for Apple silicon and Intel
Photo organizer for Mac – all pictures, all drives, 81 formats
On the Mac, too, pictures end up spread across the desktop, Downloads, external drives and old project folders – and Finder does not show a preview for every format by a long way. Album 42 brings everything into one catalogue: with previews for 81 formats, AI image search and colour search, for Macs with Apple silicon and with Intel processors.
How it works on the Mac
Install
Open the DMG file and drag Album 42 into the “Applications” folder. Album 42 is notarized by Apple.
Full Disk Access
Album 42 shows you how to turn it on – then it catalogues all folders without asking about each one.
Scan and find
Select a folder or drive, click “Scan” – and search by name, content, colour or tag.
What is different on the Mac
Instead of Ctrl you use ⌘, and Finder instead of File Explorer. Screenshots taken with ⌘+⇧+4 land under “Screenshots” by themselves (see screenshots and clipboard).
One licence, Windows or Mac
The licence is for one computer – whether Windows or Mac. If you change computers, you deactivate it on the old one and enter the key on the new one, even from Windows to the Mac.
Frequently asked questions
Which Macs are supported?
Macs with macOS 12 (Monterey) or later – with Apple silicon (M1 to M4) and with Intel processors.
Why does Album 42 need Full Disk Access?
Without it, macOS asks separately for protected places like the desktop, Documents or external drives. With Full Disk Access Album 42 catalogues everything without asking – and your pictures still never leave the Mac.
Will Finder show more thumbnails then?
No. Album 42 changes nothing in Finder; the previews are in the Album 42 window.
What does Album 42 cost?
€29 once for version 1 including all updates, for one computer – no subscription. Before that you can try it free for 28 days without signing up.
