never lost again
Save screenshots and clipboard images automatically
You quickly capture part of the screen or copy a picture in the browser – and later it’s gone because the clipboard was overwritten. Not with Album 42: screenshots and copied pictures land in the catalogue by themselves, under “Screenshots”, newest first.
How it works
Capture
On Windows with Win+Shift+S, on the Mac with ⌘+⇧+4 – or “Copy image” in the browser.
Album 42 keeps it
Screenshots appear under “Screenshots”. Copied pictures are saved by Album 42 as PNG in a subfolder of their own.
Use it
Drag the picture into an email, a chat or a document – even where pasting doesn’t work.
Where do the screenshots go?
Album 42 uses the folder where Windows or macOS saves your screenshots. Pictures from the clipboard are saved as PNG in a subfolder so they don’t get lost. Under Settings → Catalogue you can switch the automatic saving off.
Drag a selection, paste, done
In the viewer, press C and drag a rectangle – the selection is on the clipboard right away and can be pasted into any message or document. Ctrl+C copies the whole picture.
Frequently asked questions
Where does Windows 11 save screenshots?
Depending on the Snipping Tool settings, in the folder “Pictures › Screenshots” or only on the clipboard. Album 42 shows both under “Screenshots” – it saves pictures from the clipboard as a file for this.
Does this also work on the Mac?
Yes. Screenshots taken with ⌘⇧4 appear under “Screenshots”, and pictures you capture straight to the clipboard with ⌘⌃⇧4 are saved as a file by Album 42 too.
Can I switch the automatic saving off?
Yes, under Settings → Catalogue: “Save copied images automatically as files”.
How much does Album 42 cost?
